Where are your teeth whitening gels made?
Our Carbamide Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Preloaded trays are manufactured and filled in FDA-Approved US cleanroom facilities. Our manufacturers produce products for some of the largest teeth whitening suppliers worldwide, so we know our gels are safe and effective.
What's the difference between Carbamide & Hydrogen Peroxide teeth whitening gel?
Hydrogen Peroxide gel is better used in a dental office or by teeth whitening professionals and have a maximum of 6-month shelf life. Carbamide Peroxide gel can be used by home users or professionals and has a 6-12 month shelf life.
Both hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide are effective whitening ingredients. Carbamide peroxide is a larger, more complex molecule and has about 1/3 the strength of hydrogen peroxide. In other words, 30% carbamide peroxide has about the same strength as 10% hydrogen peroxide. The other difference is that hydrogen peroxide works faster, but carbamide peroxide is more stable and yields better long-term results because the oxygen release is slower and more stable.
This chart may be useful if you are looking to buy close equivalents:
Carbamide Peroxide Formula | Hydrogen Peroxide Equivalent |
16% Carbamide Peroxide | 6% Hydrogen Peroxide |
22% Carbamide Peroxide | 9% Hydrogen Peroxide |
35% Carbamide Peroxide | 12% Hydrogen Peroxide |
44% Carbamide Peroxide | 16% Hydrogen Peroxide |
Does one teeth whitening formula work better than the other?
Both hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide produce excellent whitening results. A study published in the Journal of the American Dental Association showed that carbamide peroxide appeared to produce slightly more dramatic results when used by consumers because the whitening molecules are released slowly over time and because the peroxide remains more stable in consumer packaging. Dentists typically use hydrogen peroxide in their offices because they are interested in achieving rapid results. However, most typically a dentist will also prescribe a take-home whitening product with carbamide peroxide to complete the treatment and make sure that the teeth whitening procedure lasts.
What types of teeth stains can hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide remove?
Teeth whitening systems (white strips, whitener trays, gels, and swabs) containing either hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide can remove coffee stains, food stains, wine stains, drink stains and smoking stains. Teeth whitening products will not whiten false teeth, crowns, caps, dentures or tetracycline stains.
What are the ingredient in teeth whitening gel?
Ingredients are dependent on the formula (HP or CP). Please see the following:
Carbamide Peroxide Gel Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Glycerine, Carbamide Peroxide, d-Limonen, Peppermint Essential Oil
Hydrogen Peroxide Gel Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Glycerine, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peppermint Essential Oil

Do your teeth whitening gels require a light in order to whiten teeth?
Both Carbamide and Hydrogen Peroxide gels will work with or without a light/ high-intensity lamp. The teeth whitening gel's whitening properties are activated by heat. Your body temperature will automatically activate the whitening gel, however using a light or led lamp will accelerate the results.
You can purchase all handheld whitening lights or professional whitening lamps HERE.
How Does LED Teeth Whitening Work?
LED teeth whitening uses blue light to speed up the chemical reactions that remove stains from teeth. The light accelerates the increase in temperature of a whitening gel that contains hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, which breaks down faster and forms free radicals that whiten teeth.
Does peroxide-based whitening gel whiten crown, implants, caps or dentures?
No - peroxide teeth whitening gel does not lift stains from unnatural teeth.
How should I store my teeth whitening gel when I'm not using it?
To ensure efficacy, we recommend keeping your teeth whitening gel refrigerated or in a cool dark place. Storing the gel in a warm location, or in direct sunlight may decrease the shelf life of the product, make it unusable, or decrease the efficacy.
Teeth whitening gel should be discarded if it is past usable shelf life.
How do I handle a C-shaped retractor?
Cleaning: Immediately after use, thoroughly rinse fluids/debris from the device with copious amounts of cool running water. Clean with soap and water. Visually check to ensure surfaces are clean and free from damage, stains, and bioburden. Rinse Retractors with distilled or de-mineralized water if possible. Inspect device for visual damage, wear and tear or deterioration. Discard broken, defective or worn-out products.
Sterilization: If steam sterilization is desired, autoclave @ 120°C / 248°F for 30 minutes. Always follow your autoclave manufacturer instructions and adhere to AAMI ST79 standards for safe practices. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the reprocessor to ensure that the reprocessing is actually performed using equipment, materials, and personnel in the reprocessing facility to achieve the desired result. This requires validation and routine monitoring of the process. Likewise, any deviation by the user from the instructions provided must be properly evaluated for effectiveness and potential adverse consequences.
